Unnatural Wonders 2017- 2018

Man’s desire to alter his surroundings fascinates me. Whether constructing structures for living and worshipping, manipulating the landscape or environment for financial gain, or destroying enemies the results can be visually stunning. My aim is not to render political or social comment, but to appreciate the extraordinary visual impact of the results. When taken out of context these images--a pile of sand, an ancient pyramid or a massive open mine—are especially provocative to me.

These images are from multiple exposure large files that are stitched together so that they can be printed at mammoth sizes with little or no loss of sharpness and detail. Printed in a consistent low contrast monochromatic way, they strive for an unemotional presentation.
